LOL you want to be flamed don't you.

I suggested this and got flamed to hell and back by the poor/lazy/PvPers.

People will dismiss you as either elitest/Ebayer/lazy bastard on welfare or all 3...

Time to give up on this thread.

I'd like to at least see another FOW/UW type place that has some new type of Obsidian armor. One that uses rubies and sapphires in the creation. The 1.5k, 15K pricing seems fine to me, so I dont have a problem with that.

The prices of the armor shouldnt change, but the difficulty of reaching the crafters could cut down on some of the clonage going on.

If they were to make any major changes to the way we aquire armor, the best way to do it would be through drops.

I realise this already exists in games such as WoW, but its a good idea.

We keep the standard 15k and obsideon armors, but introduce green armor drops which can be warn.

In a similar fashion to green weapon drops, they can only be obtained when dropped by bosses and would be VERY rare drops.

Bosses would only drop armor of the same profession as themselves, and they would only drop for a player of the same profession.

For instance if your fighting a red elemental boss. Their armor would only drop if your an elemental.

The reason being that the armor cant be sold to others. So you dont want warriors or rangers picking up elemental armor which they cant use or sell.

The same way that only professions can only capture elite skills from their identical bosses'.

Different classes of boss would drop different armor:

Mersaat drop mersaat style armor.
Undead drop undead style armor.
Etc etc...

They could be just as rare as green weapons, but because you cant sell them, it would depend upon you aquiring them yoiurself instead of buying them from others.

Obviously you wouldnt get an entire armor set in one drop. You would have to keep going back again.

But because Anet dont like to make things too hard for you, you wouldnt get the same piece drop twice and waste your time.

If you already have the leggings, they wouldnt drop again. A different piece would.

This would add alot more variety to armor as people could choose between 15k, obsideon, or green armor.

But like green weapons the armor cant be mod'd.

And each continent would add its own new armor sets to drop.

I have nothing against expensive armors, but I think having more character models would be good or have some short of way to change how you look (I believe this was discussed in lyssa concept).

I don't like the idea of having green armors...it would pretty much mean that all pvpers who want to play HoH and GvG seriously will have to PvE grind for them.

I wouldn't mind like a 20k armor being added though.

Thats assuming all GvG-ers and PvP-ers are going to be vain enough to want green armor :P.

I dont exactly know how PvP works, but they could have boss's (if they have them in PvP) drop wearable armor too?

I'd look forward to seeing many more sets of armor, too many shorter versions of me running around. Expensive or not, whatever, just different, it would be nice.

PS - I've got no time to argue.

aslong as they have armors that look like real knights armors for the warriors then
/Signed

none of the warrior armors in factions appeal to me as they look nothing like knights armors, i would like to see more real knights looking armors and i will happily pay for a full set even if it means weeks or even months of farming.

I'm just hoping they improve the graphics...GW graphics lack substance.

I think the deal is that it would be nice if they made some more interesting looking armor sets. Some of them are indeed impressive but some are not that interesting/nice looking. I don't believe in a need for a even more expensive armor considering the general population probably doesn't enjoy endless grinding.

my monk NEEDS wings!!!!

and i really dont see why not more looks for armors?!!!!!!!

Obsidian? THATS ONLY 1 LOOK and most people get it not because its nice, because its 1337!

why not more?!

and 1 more point! if you make the 100k armor in a place like Forgemaster, it will make the players make more then 1 trip to craft the whole set, so more fun! more challenge!

C'mon bring it on ANET

The only way to decrease inflation is to introduce some form of tax into the game, say at 10% a week.

To get around of the issue of people trading gold into other things, EVERYTHING will be taxed, and weapons will lose 10% of their "durability points" with each week. Hence if you have a stack of ectos you lose 25 ectos a week, if you try to game the system and put your ectos into 249 stacks you still lose 25 per stack (duh, round up, since when does govt round down). Weapons that are destroyed cannot be repaired, so you will have to buy new ones.

Such a measure will solve inflation in NO TIME. A 100000 ecto billionaire will be a pauper in a mere 3 months.

Once again trying to tax the rich will always have effects on the poor :P

Its ok for the oober rich who have thousands of gold and can buy new weapons when they get damaged by this tax, or who have enough gold to last a while before it runs out from the tax.

But the poor ones out there who work for our gold will be stuffed if we have to buy new weapons all the time due to damage.

Having owned around 3000 ecto at one point all i can say is..NO

Why should the rich suffer because the poor cant be bothered to do anything about their financial situation?

This supid "suggestion" would solve nothing and just cripple the poor even more.

/Signed for dumbest suggestion so far.

15k armor= Basically, an entire set would cost you 120 or so plat.
Obsidian 15k armor (because that's what it costs)= 1300k or so for a full set.
So would that mean that a set of 60k would cost a 60k per piece, so that'd be...
240k for casters, 300k for everyone else JUST FOR THE ARMOR... so that would be around 350k for a full set... and you MUST farm for the gold to make it... ebay anyone?
also this belongs in sardelac.

I like the idea of more looks. I understand some people dont want to look the same as others.
However if you mix and match I dont think you can look like others, I havent found a single player wear the way I am now.

And if you can only appreciate beauty by its price, I feel bad for you.

overall /not sign
armor npc->storage->armor npc 5 times is just laughable, unlike material which you can bring as many as you want(it stack to 250 but you can bring more then 1 stack)
